Sometimes life can be really challenging with every day feeling like an uphill struggle. Unplanned changes, sudden losses, relationship breakups, or traumatic curveballs we simply didn’t see coming can leave us feeling overwhelmed, distressed and deeply unhappy. Sometimes there hasn’t been a specific event, we just feel low, depressed and anxious and do not know why.
We all have different coping mechanisms when we are feeling like that and not all of them are healthy or successful. Deciding to talk to someone about what is happening to you and how you are feeling can be a really positive step forward. Counselling is an opportunity to talk to someone in a confidential safe space free from judgement and blame.
Counselling can be a life changing process and for many clients it is the best thing they have ever done – however, it is also a challenging process and it is normal to feel worse before you feel better. However if you are committed to improving your life, your wellbeing and your mental health then deciding to enter into counselling is a really positive step forward.
